Sprung was born in Cape Town in 2020, when founder Nicola Polmans left a corporate career to build something with purpose.
The idea was simple: South Africans love being outside. We braai, we gather, we linger at the table long after the food is gone. But the products available to furnish those moments were either cheap and forgettable, or imported, overpriced, and out of touch with how we actually live. There was a gap for something beautifully made, built to last, and proudly local.
Places to make memories
So Nicola started making fire pits in Cape Town. Then outdoor kitchens. Then furniture and handcrafted food boards. Each piece designed to become the centrepiece of a gathering, the kind of thing people ask about, the kind of thing that gets passed down.
People and planet, built in from the start
We partner with a local NPO that trains previously disadvantaged people in carpentry and craft skills. When you buy from Sprung, you’re supporting that work directly.
We also build with recyclable materials wherever possible, because outdoor living should respect the outdoors.
